This speculation is more dangerous in the film

It is actually a weak plot but good actors theory that seems to work for the first half. Why on earth would someone who lives alone with a paraplegic live China PET film in such a location where it might be impossible for someone to reach in times of need? When you have a patient, who cannot get up from the bed, you would rather want to be in someplace where medical help is easily available. There is also the use of jargon that helps to some extent in the film, but parasomnia, a sibling of insomnia, does not create much horror even in the way it sounds phonetically, and yes it does deserve a documentary for itself. With the vast experience and knowledge of two specialists we still end up with a psychological thriller-horror film that vastly undermines the positions of these specialists. The writer is founder, Lightcube Film Society. It confuses the audience between psychological conditions arising out of traumatic experience and a psychopathic tendency. The only success that this film may claim to have is that all ghosts are nothing but the brain playing tricks due to parasomnia or a multiple other kind of situations. Add to that the complete white landscape, as if the place is always full of snow. So the next time you think you are seeing ghosts or hearing strange creaky sounds or feel like you are being grabbed from nowhere, you are perhaps experiencing symptoms of parasomnia. The first thing to do in such situations is get some sleep, good sound sleep, and perhaps consult an expert after all no one is going to judge you for seeking help.

This speculation is more dangerous in the film because Mary Portman (Naomi Watts) a widowed mother is also a psychologist herself.Rating: Cast: Naomi Watts, Jacob Tremblay, Charlie Heaton, Oliver PlattDirector: Farren BlackburnFarren Blackburn may have hit a raw nerve with this film and it seems likely that he will face a string of ethical questions with regards to the ending of the story. In fact, this film could also be seen in terms of how sound is manipulated to create horror when there is actually none.Sadly it does not elaborate if the former leads to the latter, leaving the audience with the speculation of weather the psychologically challenged person is actually a psychopath from the inside.Stephen Portman (Charlie Heaton), gets paralysed in an accident in which he loses his dad too.The sound score of the film is good; in the absence of the Foleys the horror would absolutely become absent. Mary lives with her paraplegic stepson far removed from civilisation. Naomi Watts gets us real close to the vulnerabilities of character when someone is faced with such a situation; she is constantly deliberating on whether life is more difficult for Stephen and how death could be an easy release.

In essence, the setting of the story seems unusually contrived to make sure that the element of thrill and horror is added to it.Another interesting character in the plot is Dr Wilson, who communicates intermittently with Mary about Stephen. It is only the performances of these actors that give any chance for the film to be endured. The setting of the story is also very suspicious. He has been bed-ridden for almost 12 years now, a long enough time for Mary to find out about the truth, or she may be a really dumb psychologist who is trying really hard to enact this plot full of errors, so hard that she cannot sense the incestuous undertones of the story. The treatment of mentally ill patients in a story is a gray area, but this film makes the case very strange

I also believe that Bong’s approach to storytelling

Resul Pookutty, who won the Best Sound Mixing Oscar for Slumdog Millionaire a decade ago, believes the huge success of Parasite has opened up the Oscars to the rest of the world. Indian cinema, especially Bollywood, is like Brazilian football — the international fan favourite. He has absorbed many different approaches to narrative, and then he created his own unique way of telling a story,” adds Paquet, a professor at the Busan Asian Film School in South Korea. But trophies such as the golden statuette presented at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre don’t come for song and dance alone.Last summer in Cannes, Bong Joon-ho was in a cheerful mood while talking to critics after the world premiere of Parasite at the influential film festival. “I feel myself wholesale BOPP film as a genre filmmaker, but I don’t like to follow the conventional codes of a genre filmmaker. It is a big question for a bigger film industry. “We have eight or nine stars and we start writing for them. But does the Academy opening its doors to the non-English language territory make it easy for India to imagine a possible scenario in future? Imagine? Yes.

Rahman and Gulzar (Slumdog Millionaire) and Satyajit Ray (Honorary Academy Award) — to have won an Academy Award. Like the Seleção know they can’t win the World Cup only with samba and capoeira. It is dependent on selling fantasies. Possible? The answer is as complicated as our country today. “Ninety per cent of the story of the film takes place in a house and 60 per cent of images was shot from the basement to the first floor.Pookutty knows India has a long road ahead for Oscar glory.”Throughout his interaction with the international media at the French Riviera, there were two words that Bong kept repeating — “Korean touch”.”Nearly a year later, the “Korean touch” that won Parasite the Palme d’Or in Cannes and made it the first non-English language film to win the Best Picture Oscar, begins to make a lot of sense for national cinemas around the world aspiring for their own crowning glory. We add a Korean touch when telling these stories,” he explained.”Darcy Paquet, who did the English subtitles for Parasite, says the film’s combination of universal themes and culturally-specific details made it relevant to audiences around the world. The first time he mentioned the words was for distinguishing himself from American genre-filmmakers. “The rules for nominations have been changed, the college of voters has been enlarged, to include non-American artistic personalities, the manipulation of lobbyists has been, if not removed, at least better controlled. One such national cinema asking if it could ever win big at the Oscars like South Korea is the 107-year-old Indian cinema. “We need intellectual acumen to take Indian cinema to the next level,” he says.

While answering another question, he underlined the importance of the basement in a Korean home. A self-deprecating Bong went on to reveal a joke he often heard on the set: “It is a film about a staircase. “The Academy is telling the world that send us good films, and we’ll celebrate talent,” says Pookutty, one of the few Indians — along with Bhanu Athaiya (Gandhi), A. “I also believe that Bong’s approach to storytelling is very universal, partly because he has been watching many films from all around the world since he was a child. We lack content creation, production management and support for good content,” adds Pookutty, a member of the executive committee of the Academy. “Hindi literature is richer and stronger, but Hindi cinema is not dependent on Hindi literature. . “In Korea, there are homes with a basement that adds a very special Korean touch. The different vertical layers are linked by a staircase,” Bong said at the customary press conference. “Some concern Hollywood and the Academy vote, some concern Bong Joon-ho and his film, some concern South Korean cinema,” says Frodon, former editor-in-chief of Cahiers du Cinema, the iconic French film magazine that had critics like Jean-Luc Godard and François Truffaut before they became filmmakers. “As for Hollywood and the Oscars, it is clear that such a result would not have happened until a few years ago,” adds Frodon. What are the chances of a Hindi, Malayalam or Marathi movie winning the Best Picture at the Oscars? For one, the victory of Parasite shows that it is no longer an impossible task for a film made outside America, Britain or Australia.R.French critic Jean-Michel Frodon explains that the success of Parasite is the “extreme result” of the combination of an unusual number of factors

If tomorrow I make a movie as to what was

In this regard, Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam wrote to CBFC chief Pahlaj Nihalani, expressing the grand old partys wish to watch the movie before it is censored. The reality is based on the books and the documentaries made on them. After ordering 12 cuts, the CBFC granted U/A certificate ALOx film manufacturers to the film.New Delhi: Backing party veteran M Veerappa Moilys assertion that Indu Sarkar will hurt sentiments of many Congressmen and that is what the "present Prime Minister wants", the Congress on Monday questioned if it will get same support if a movie is made on Prime Minister Narendra Modis alleged role in the 2002 riots in Gujarat. Let my film get censor board clearance and the moment it is released in the theatres, you can go and watch the film," Bhandarkar said."The trailer of the film says its a film on Emergency and hence, we can see the likes of our beloved leaders like Indira Gandhi ji, Sanjay Gandhi ji and other senior leaders of the Indian National Congress."

If tomorrow I make a movie as to what was the role of Narendra Modi in 2002 riots in Gujarat, Sohrabuddin then will I get the same respect and same support from them? Will the RSS and the ABVP goons let the movie run? Will the Censor board allow it? If they will let it run then we should soon make a movie on this," Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit said. The Congresss apprehensions are over the portrayal of party veterans like Indira Gandhi, Sanjay Gandhi and other senior leaders in the film. The court will hear the matter on July 24 as Pauls lawyers Mariam Nizam and Tanveer Nizam have sought the matter to be heard urgently. The movie is slated to release on July 28.The trailer of the movie led the Congress party to ask the CBFC for a review before it comes under the scanner.Paul filed the petition claiming that the films trailer maligns the image of Sanjay and former prime minister Indira Gandhi.Meanwhile, Priya Singh Paul, who claims to be the biological daughter of late Congress leader Sanjay Gandhi, has filed a writ petition at the Bombay High Court against the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and the makers of Indu Sarkar to put a stay on the release of Madhur Bhandarkars upcoming film. We, therefore, want to be certain that our leaders are not shown in bad light and hence, would like to see the film before its censored," Nirupam mentioned, in a letter addressed to Nihalani.Following this several press conferences of the movie were cancelled.

I dont understand the demand that they (the Congress) want to watch the movie before its release.Earlier, filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar had censured the controversy surrounding his upcoming directorial venture and had asserted that the movie is not a documentary, but a work of fiction.Indu Sarkar, based on the 1975-77 Emergency period, has evoked strong criticism and protest from the Congress..Few other political outfits have also expressed dismay over the movie, while some have taken to Twitter to threaten Bhandarkar against the movies release."This is completely wrong, and controversy like this should not happen because I made a film as a filmmaker and Im saying that 70 percent of the film is fiction and 30 percent is reality

The unravelling of the bitter past of Magik band

You will surely miss the presence of Prachi Desai and Shahana Goswami on screen as the two don’t have much to do but they look adorable in their parts. Shradhha Kapoor is natural but could have done much better in emotional scenes. Pubali Chaudhary, who has written the screenplay, is predictable yet refreshing. No doubt, he acts well but his grief-stricken expressions have now started to bore. Even though the filmmaker tried hard to match up to the standards set by Abhishek Kapoor in Rock On, he unfortunately failed in his attempt. He is successful in taking the story which ended eight years ago ahead. The film could have been much better in several aspects and hence remains a decent one-time watch. Music by Shankar Ehsaan Loy is peppy but the songs are minimal which will leave you craving for more band performances.. The three relive their ugly past when Jiya (Shraddha Kapoor) and Uday (Shashank Arora) enter their band in Mumbai.

The film is set in the relatively less explored north-east India and has an emotional plot. The film kicks off really well and loses its grip post interval but the climax acts as the saviour. However, dialogues penned by Farhan Akhtar are not that impressive.Rating: Director: Shujaat SaudagarCast: Farhan Akhtar, Shraddha Kapoor, Purab Kohli, Arjun Rampal, Luke Kenny, Prachi Desai, Shahana Goswami, Shashank AroraDirector Shujaat Saudagar, who marked his Bollywood directorial debut with Bali in 2004, had taken a long metalized bopp film sabbatical and returns with the much applauded musical franchise Rock On 2. Having seen their dream of Magik band reviving, the three still have aspirations of launching and promoting new singing talent. The humour in the film is like a breath of fresh air. Rock On 2 will take you on an interesting journey since the film deals with emotions, conspiracies and social awareness. The film starts from the rock performance where the first Rock On ends after Rob (Luke Keny) dies of cancer. Marc Koninckx has visually captured North-East India beautifully, especially the folk performance by Usha Uthup towards the climax. Eight years later, Aditya (Farhan Akhtar), KD (Purab Kohli), Joe (Arjun Rampal) are settled in different parts of India.Shashank Arora has major scenes with Shraddha which he pulled off well. The reviewer feels that being a musical film, the sequel should have had more rock band performances and focussed less on dragging the personal issues of the characters.

The unravelling of the bitter past of Magik band is what forms the major crux of the sequel Rock On 2.Farhan Akhtar has mostly done intense roles so far, his redemption for a mishap throughout the film makes it seem as if the actor has not moved on from the likes of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Luck By Chance.Director Shujaat Saudagar’s attempt is noticeable. On the other hand, the character progression of Purab Kohli and Arjun Rampal in the story eight years later looks more natural and realistic.Due to some unfortunate incident, Aditya settles down in Shillong where he buys some land and helps poor people.Since the film is an extension of the prequel Rock On, viewers expecting the same flavour as the first one might get disappointed. Lead drummer KD continues to make compositions for his clients and Joe is busy earning being a judge of a popular singing reality show
